Position Summary
Mamas Resource Coordinators are formal representatives of Mamas for Mamas across Canada, acting as the safety net for mamas in need of more than they can access through the closed sharing economy group. These volunteers will do a volunteer application with head office including a criminal record check and will be assigned to finding and providing resources for mamas in their local Mamas chapters and associated communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Compile and maintain a list of local and provincial resources (foodbanks, rental subsidy supports, shelters, etc) and encourage others to add resources to the list as they become available.
- Answer messages sent to the Mamas fb business page. Forward business messages to Mamas HQ and respond to messages from Mamas in need with appropriate resources. If a Mama reaches out with a need that cannot be helped through resource list please contact Mama HQ for an alternative solution.
- Be an active participant in the closed Mama group and encourage local mamas to join the group to donate, share, support and connect.
- Skillsets that match this position include but are not limited to: Resource knowledge, active and comfortable on social media, commitment to the privacy of the mamas who reach out to you, and a kind heart. Formal social service education an asset but not required. You do not need to meet all these requirements but a framework is always helpful.
- Review, approve or decline member requests as required.
- Review reported posts as required.
- Monitor daily activity to ensure that members are following page rules.
- Assist members with questions, or concerns as required.
- Direct people to the National Branch Coordinator and/or Branch Executive Coordinator if an issue should escalate and requires more attention.
- Communicate with local branch team members as required
- Report any concerns or mandatory updates to the National Branch Coordinator or Branch Executive Coordinator.
Position Summary
Coordinate with the donor and staff to ensure donations are being dropped off or picked up in an efficient manner. Create scheduling for regular donations and have appropriate staffing and volunteers on site to assist with donations. Problem solve storage solutions for housing large donations and communicate with executive team to schedule for partnership donations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate with staff and volunteers to assist in organization of donation
- Collaborate with executive team to establish new sources for donations
- Review all incoming donations to distribute to appropriate departments
- Provide invoice to accounting if necessary, for tax purposes
- Follow up with donors to maintain relationship and thank you cards
- Direct donators to the appropriate person ie small donations to front end staff, large donations with potential partnership to executives
Position Summary
To upkeep and maintain all social media platforms with appropriate content from partnerships, donations, client successes with attention to confidentiality and appropriate representation of the Mamas for Mamas mission and brand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Stays up to date on current events
- Creates content on brand and adhering to guidelines that correspond with social events connected to the Mamas mission – poverty relief, aboriginal support, marginalized groups, LGBTQ2S, children in need
- Corresponds with Mamas for Mamas Head Quarters on posts and campaigns
- Coordinating national posts to local posts
- Creates content with Mamas for Mamas culture and branding in mind. Focusing on stories of families coming out of poverty with a hand up not just a hand out. Sharing stories of successful collaborations with other nonprofits and organizations
- Sharing head office content as appropriate
- Collaborate with partnership coordinator to post partnerships and donations under appropriate marketing tiers
- Sharing local branch content, provide insight on day to day operations through stories or content posts
Position Summary
The strategic partnership manager is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships among partners while also developing strategies to increase revenue for the organization. This position will allow for larger partnerships to make it to the executive level if deemed necessary through the partnership protocols while being able to maintain smaller partnerships that do not require social media components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Connect with new partnerships to filter requests and approve and deny based on partnership protocols
- Arrange appropriate meetings for partnership opportunities based on protocols
- Maintain a record of all partnerships
- Social media posts for partnerships as required
- Maintain relationships with smaller partnerships
- Send out Thank You’s to partnerships on this level
- Attend partnership meetings to strategize moving forward
- Monthly partnerships summeries to Executive Coordinator
General volunteer duties with Mamas for Mamas. Includes remote, online and in-person volunteer support.

Position Summary
A clinical social worker professionally applies social work methods and theory to all clients, families/carers within the realm of the Mamas for Mamas mandate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- schedule and complete intakes

- advocate for clients’ needs
- actively research resources within the community
- communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
- identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- collaborate with other professionals in the community
- refer clients/families to community resources and provide access to services such as financial assistance, legal aid, housing, job placement, education, etc.
- monitor, evaluate and record client progress through follow ups and check ins
- Assess clients’ needs, situations, strengths, and support networks to determine their goals
- Respond to crisis situations such as suspected child abuse and mental health emergencies
- Maintain case files and records
- help people develop their skills and their ability to use their own resources and those of the community to resolve problems
- develop a domestic violence safety plan if necessary
- work within a multidisciplinary team
Position Summary
Work in conjunction with the Mamas for Mamas team to maintain farm production; including weeding, water, produce maintenance and the care of chickens. Deliver all usable produce and eggs to location provided for distribution.

- Buy chicken feed
- Assist in feeding, watering and collection of eggs from chickens
- Clean chicken coup
- Assist in planning and pre-planting produce for garden
- Assist in weeding and general maintenance of farm
- Harvest fully grown produce and deliver to mamas office fridge
