The facts are staggering:

• Women in poverty have a 57% higher risk of experiencing intimate partner violence.
• Rural women are five times more likely to face violence than rural men.
• On any given night, 6,000 women and children are seeking refuge in shelters that don’t have enough space.

And when those doors are full? They sleep in cars. On strangers’ couches. In unsafe, unheated spaces. Once they enter homelessness, 96% of them will experience violence again.
