The Costumes for Kids Event is a community-driven initiative dedicated to ensuring that every child can enjoy the magic of Halloween, regardless of their financial circumstances. Held on October 14th at the Nanaimo VIRL Harbourfront Branch, this event offers families a unique opportunity to browse and borrow Halloween costumes from our lending library.
Our goal is to create a memorable and inclusive Halloween experience while promoting sustainability. By reusing costumes, we reduce waste and provide a cost-effective solution for low-income families. We are also incorporating healthy snacks, emphasizing the importance of balanced and mindful celebrations.
But the heart of our event lies in our costume donations. From September 6th to October 12th, we are encouraging community members to drop off gently used costumes at any of the three Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) locations in Nanaimo.
The Costumes for Kids Event is not just about costumes; it’s about unity, compassion, and making a positive impact in our community.
