Calgary – Karma Market Support Coordinator

The Mamas for Mamas Edmonton Karma Market provides free goods for caregivers who are struggling financially. Once trained, the KMSC will be the primary person running the Karma Market during its operating hours.

The KMSC will be working directly, and largely unsupervised, with vulnerable populations including caregivers who bring children to the Karma Market. For this reason, a criminal record check will be performed prior to hiring and a new criminal record check will be performed once every two years.

Hours: 9:30 to 2:30 Monday to Friday
Wage: $19.00 per hour
Location: This is an in-person position at the Mamas for Mamas Karma Market at 1000 Centre St N, Calgary AB

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Tracks and monitors items in the Karma Market, stock items when needed, and maintain safe passage and tidiness of office space
– Provides care for children in a healthy, safe, and structured environment
– Enters data into a case management system
– Assists clients with their shopping
– Assesses whether clients need additional support that Mamas can provided (e.g., a referral to
our at-risk program, etc.)
– Screening all clients and walk-ins
– Supports and assists in sorting donations
– Schedules and directs Karma Market volunteers
– Assesses clients’ needs, situations, strengths, and support networks to determine their goals
– Responds to emails and answering phone calls
– Monitors, evaluates and records client progress through follow ups/ check ins
– Any other duties assigned that reasonably align with a position of this nature
